About CARMA
CARMA is a media intelligence firm rather than a listening tool, and it sells the analyst as much as the software. Founded in 1984 and now run out of Dubai under founder Mazen Nahawi, it fields 23 offices, correspondents in 40 countries and more than 700 monitoring and insight staff on its own figures, which is why its Arabic and Asian coverage holds up better than global vendors who resell a regional partner feed. Nine of those offices are in MENA, from Casablanca to Doha. Monitoring spans print, broadcast, online and social in 105+ languages, and now includes what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot say about you. The platform, CARMA Insight, comes in two licences: Standard is automated capture, Professional adds human curation, paywalled sources such as the Financial Times, and breaking news alerts. Noor, an AI analyst launched in May 2026, drafts reports inside the platform. On AVE, CARMA is unusual: it still computes one per article because clients ask, while its own co-managing partner wrote AMEC's case against the metric. No pricing is published anywhere.
